Femap - independent of CAD pre-and post-processor from Siemens PLM Software for engineering analysis of the finite element method (FEM) (Finite Element Analysis - FEA). This means that Femap is the link between the user and the solver - the core of performing computations in problems of engineering analysis. Femap system integrated with solver NX Nastran, is based on Microsoft Windows, is included in the product line Velocity Series is a fully functional independent environment for modeling, simulation and evaluation of product performance analysis.

Basic modules Femap with NX Nastran allows the main types of engineering analysis such as linear static analysis, frequencies and modes of free vibrations, buckling analysis of structures, analysis of problems of steady-state and transient heat transfer, basic nonlinear analysis capabilities. Basic nonlinear analysis includes consideration of nonlinearities, as the geometric (large deformation, displacement, load tracking) and physical (taking into account nonlinear materials - plasticity, creep, viscoelasticity), taking into account contact interaction with small movements - "linear" contact record of contact with the continuity condition . Advanced non-linear module (Advanced Nonlinear) used in the analysis of large nonlinearities (including deformation [Elastomer | Elastomers], taking into account the spatial contact interaction), a combination of different types of nonlinearities, as well as the modeling and calculation of ultrafast nonlinear dynamic processes based on the explicit integration scheme. Femap includes three additional modules: Femap Flow Solver - allows for analysis of hydro and gas dynamics; Femap Advanced Thermal Solver - provides a set of capabilities for the analysis of heat and mass transfer, including the simulation of liquid channels involving convection and analysis of hydro-, gas-dynamic flows; Femap Thermal Solver - solution for the thermal analysis and heat transfer analysis. Femap is used by specialists of design organizations to model complex structures, systems and processes, such as satellites, aircraft, defense electronics, heavy construction equipment, cranes, marine transport and technological equipment. Femap provides a solution to the challenges of engineering analysis in various industries, such as aerospace, helicopter, defense industry and shipbuilding.
